Plastic Pollution became part of our waters because the governments decided that the only way to get rid of garbage is by dumping it in the oceans because everything will decompose. As of today, plastic is like our phone. We have it everywhere with us. The negative side is that people don’t recycle and if garbage was to be dumped into the oceans if it was only garbage it will decompose. But because recycling is not happening the plastic enters the ocean and lasts so long to decompose into microplastics that marine creatures get harmed. Also, another way plastic became part of our waters is because people in general throw away everything they want in the sink, bathtubs and toilets. The dirty water may contain microplastic particles from creams, toothbrushes, oils that end up going into the rivers and finally the oceans altering the natural habitat.
